Katy is an experience designer and digital storyteller. With a BA in Media Arts from Butler University and a MA in Exhibition Design from George Washington University, she crafts narrative environments that meet at the intersection of the digital and physical.
Prior to her work in the exhibition field, Katy spent several years as a multimedia storyteller in the nonprofit sector, producing and editing short video stories that dealt with a diverse range of subject matters, including advocacy issues, human-centered stories, and international policy discussions. In documentary film she worked both independently and as part of a production team to develop longer form narratives. Her personal pursuit of stories about human connection has translated into her work as an experience designer.
Katy sought out experiential design in order to merge the art of storytelling in both physical and digital spaces and to interpret thematic content into narrative experiences. She has led in-person activations on design thinking and audience empathy techniques. Her passion for storytelling and study of digital experiences offer a unique perspective on journey mapping and innovative UX.
